A Resounding Success
Angela and Richard would like to thank all the marketing specialists and business managers from across the public, private and volunteer sectors who attended The Promoco show on the 30th September 2010.
Sales and Marketing Director from The Promotion Company, Angela Oldroyd was delighted with the response the event received. "It can be a challenge justifying marketing budgets in these current economic conditions and our intentions were to communicate to our attendees how beneficial promotional products can be as part of the marketing mix."
Informative Seminars
Two seminars were delivered on the day the first being "The Proof of the Promotional Merchandise Pudding is in the eating", when Gordon Glenister, Director General of the British Promotional Merchandise Association talked about facts and figures as to why this path of marketing is proven to be successful.
Promotional Products in Practise was the second seminar presented by Angela Oldroyd and supported by representatives from the Health Improvement team at NHS Hull, Family Information Service at Hull City Council and Sarah Cusick from Dove House Hospice. All talked about how they have used promotional products as part of their programmes and highlighted some astounding results when measuring the success of their campaigns using promotional merchandise.
Public health manager with the NHS, Nicola Wood, said: "I thoroughly enjoyed the day and thought it very useful and inspiring!"
The Exhibition
We were proud to present 15 of the Industry's top promotional products and clothing suppliers, who exhibited the vast range of more than 2000 different items to demonstrate the creative opportunities for a client's marketing campaigns.
Dove House exhibited at the exhibition; it was felt it was important that they should have the opportunity to tell the visitors how the hospice works, as all the proceeds from the raffle would go to Dove House.
Sarah Cusick said, "We have enjoyed a long relationship with The Promotion Company, both professionally and also through their volunteer and fundraising activities for Dove House Hospice. We were excited to be working with them on this occasion."
Sarah continued: "Promotional products are great to use in a run up to any event, especially branded T-shirts, which effectively do all the advertising for us. When our team all wear the same branded clothing it adds to the camaraderie and it looks really good too! It's great from a health and safety aspect as well, since we can easily see everyone! So there are all kinds of positives to promotional items."
Distributor of the Year 2010
The Promotion Company were very proud to receive the 'Distributor of the Year' award at their Annual Catalogue Group Conference held in Derby on 16th September 2010. This award was voted for by suppliers in the industry.
Richard Oldroyd said, "We are delighted with this unexpected but well received award, we do feel that good working relationships with our suppliers is equally as important as is with our customers. The award is testament to our team of people who liase with the suppliers and help develop partnerships with them."
