Niche Fused Magnesia Limited was recently purchased by a US company and has been making its products in Hull Since 1958, under many names such as Electro Furnace Products, UCM Magnesia, Imerys and now NICHE.
True to its name, Niche manufactures fused magnesium oxide for use in heating elements for as ovens, dishwashers and coffee machines in the home plus, industrial, automotive and refractory applications for furnaces, kilns, incinerators, and reactors.
The company runs a 24/7 operation, employing 68 people and as the only producer of fused magnesia left in Europe, it exports 97% of its products globally across the Continent, USA, Canada, China, India, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Ukraine.
The team is currently preparing to launch the new brand and required promotional items for customers and staff to boost the new name and brand.
